2. Sitting Down
All hail the sedentary lifestyle! Since technology took over, desk jobs slowly became the new norm. At present, the average workday for someone working a desk job is about 8 to 9 hours. What is worse is that the phenomenon of sitting down does not end there. People generally commute via cars, buses, etc. sitting down. At home, entertainment involves watching television or playing a video game. We now sit through at least 70% to 80% of our waking hours. The fact that our bodies are subjected to the same position day-in and day-out has increased the average person’s likelihood of getting several forms of cancer by 66% said a the Journal of the National Cancer Institute study. Hearts diseases are also on the list. Physical activity is one way to counter the sitting habit.
