9. Obesity
The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) stated that as in 2008, the adult obesity rate in the US was estimated at 32.2% for men and 35.5% for women. With the advent of fast food and quick deliveries the numbers are steadily rising. The modern lifestyle, which includes sedentary work, unhealthy food and addiction to social media and technology, is the trinity responsible for the growing number of obesity-relation illnesses. Diabetes is on a roll, heart diseases and blood pressure are increasingly common in adults as well as teenagers. This is a very scary trend and one that can be blamed on the lack of physical activity as entertainment has become more digital and outdoor sports has slowly lost appeal. The idiot box is not helping anybody.
