18. Sao Tome and Principe, Africa
Being 400 kms off the coast of Equaltorial New Guinea and 780 kms from the nearest major African city, Lagos, make these West African islands an oft-neglected tourist destination. The poor air-connectivity to the place is another reason why not too many people visit the place. Sao Tome and Príncipe has everything; incredible beaches for swimming and surfing. The capital city of Sao Tome is dotted with good restaurants and cafes and has a vibrant night life. Not very far away from the capital are spectacular rain forests and mountains for the more adventurous traveller. Last but not the least is the chocolate by Claudio Corollo considered to be among the best in the world.
