9. Competencies
The fact that we have a world of knowledge at our fingertips does little good to our brain’s overall capacity. Studies have shown that our dependence on gadgets has in fact hampered our imagination and ability to think outside of the box. So, what is being observed is that students that are heavy users of technology have a decreased level of brain activity whilst engaging in different tasks.
Conclusion
In the end, gadgets and technology are like a double edged sword. When used mindfully, they can ripe impressive results. And if, they are used recklessly, the road becomes steeper on its way down. Innovation should be used for progress and attaining the general well-being of everyone. What we can do at an individual level is be mindful of our use and dependence on gadgets. Learning new skills and gaining better understanding about the current trends can be very helpful in the long run. Technology was built to make our lives easy. Therefore, we should be careful in not letting it turn us into thoughtless dummies on strings.
