12. German Shepherd
Originating as a guard of livestock in the Alsace region of Germany and weighing from 70 to 100 lbs the German Shepherd is one of the most domesticated breeds in the world and is a common sight in many a affluent home. Famed for their intelligent, confident, alert, vigilant and fearless nature, the Alsatian as it is also known, is also used in American police units called K-9, a numeric variation of the word “canine”.
