Poland has shown significant recent growth in recent times. After the destruction caused by World War II, Poland has preserved and rebuilt many important monuments including 14 UNESCO World Heritage sites. It’s also cheaper than other primary European destinations. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum that was the site of the infamous Nazi concentration camp that exterminated millions of Jews during the WWII, the Wawel Castle belonging to the 14th century monarch King Casimir III the Great and the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Southern Poland are some of the major draws to this Central European nation. Tourist arrivals to the country touched as much as 32 million in 2017.
