10. Mexico
Mexico is famous for its great Mayan civilizations with its prime symbol being the El Castillo, Meso-american Step pyramid in the extreme South-eastern state of Yucatan. It is the most populous Spanish speaking country in the world. The combination of colonial history and multiple former civilizations gives Mexican culture a great vivacity and has endowed the country with numerous important cultural sites that attracted as many as 39 million tourists in 2017 up almost 12 per cent from 2016. The Day of the Dead parade or the Mexico Grand Prix Formula One race held in the capital, Mexico City, are great draws, too.
