6. Webcam
The webcam first hit the market in the 1990s. It was one gadget that quickly garnered a lot of attention as it made video calling possible for the very first time. Personal computer owners could just strap these webcams upon their monitors, connect them and actually see the other person with another webcam on call with them. Now, even smartphones have front facing cameras that can be used for a video call. However, this all could be made possible because of the webcams that gave birth to video calling.
