2. Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Kentucky, United States
Originally opened as hospital for people suffering from tuberculosis in 1910, the two-story structure was later transformed into a massive sanatorium in 1926. The television show ‘Ghost Hunter’ made the former hospital popular as one of the most haunted location in the US. Prior to closing down, it is estimated that over 60,000 died in the hospital.
